1. JESUS’ FATHER, GOD, IS THE ETERNAL SPIRIT & CREATOR:

A. God has always existed & always will:

Exo.3:14 – God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM
Psa.90:2 – From everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God
Psa.102:24b-27 – The heavens…shall perish, but Thou shalt endure… Thou art the same, & Thy years shall have no end
Rev.1:8 – I am Alpha & Omega, the beginning & the ending…which is, & which was, & which is to come, the Almighty

B. God is an immortal, invisible Spirit:

Jn.4:24 – God is a Spirit: they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit & in truth
1Tim.1:17 – Unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour & glory

C. He fills the entire universe:

2Chr.2:6 – Who is able to build Him an house (temple), seeing the heaven & the Heaven of heavens cannot contain Him?
Psa.139:7-10 – Whither shall I flee from Thy presence? Thou art there
Acts 7:48,49 – Heaven is My throne, & earth is My footstool
Acts 17:24-29 – In Him we live, & move, & have our being

D. He is the only true God:

Isa.43:10,11 – I am He: before Me there was no God…neither shall there be after Me

E. He created the world, the universe, & man:

Gen.1:1 – In the beginning God created the heaven & the earth
Gen.1:26,27 – God created man in His Own image…male & female
Gen.2:7 – God formed man of the dust of the ground

F. His understanding & power are infinite:

Psa.139:4 – There is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, Thou knowest it altogether
Psa.147:5 – Great is our Lord…His understanding is infinite
Isa.40:13-18 – All nations before Him are as nothing…less than nothing, & vanity
Isa.40:28b – There is no searching of His understanding
Rom.11:33 – O the depth of…the wisdom & knowledge of God!

G. God is far beyond man’s limited ability to understand:

Isa.55:8,9 – As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are…My thoughts (higher) than your thoughts

H. God has a wonderful & beautiful plan for man:

1Cor.2:9 – Neither have entered into heart of man, the [wonderful] things God hath prepared for them that love Him

I. But sinful man is estranged from God:

Rom.3:23 – For all have sinned, & come short of the glory of God
Eccl.7:20 – Not a just man on earth, that…sinneth not
Isa.59:2 – Your iniquities have separated between you & your God

J. God loved man & wanted him to have salvation:

Mat.18:14 – It is not the will of (God) that one…should perish
2Pet.3:9 – The Lord is…not willing that any should perish (See also Ezk.18:23,32; 33:11.)

2. WHY GOD SENT JESUS INTO THE WORLD:

A. God sent Jesus to show us a picture of what He is like:

Col.1:13b,15 – His dear Son: Who is the image (perfect picture) of the invisible God
Heb.1:3 – The brightness of His (God’s) glory, & the express (clearly communicated) image of His person
2Cor.4:4b – Christ, Who is the image of God

B. In knowing Jesus, we can know & understand God:

Jn.8:19 – If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father
Jn.14:7-9 – He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father

C. God showed us His love by sending Jesus to earth:

Jn.3:16 – God so loved the world, that He gave His only…Son
Rom.5:8 – God commendeth His love toward us, in that…Christ [came into the world &] died for us
1Jn.4:8b-10 – The love of God…God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him

D. Jesus showed us God’s love by dying for us:

Jn.10:11 – I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep
Jn.15:13 – Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends

E. Jesus’ death paid the price for our sins, & if we believe in Him, we receive God’s gift of salvation:

Lk.19:10 – The Son of man is come to seek & to save that which was lost (See also Mat.9:13)
Jn.3:17 – God sent not His Son into the world to condemn world; but that the world through Him might be saved
Rom.5:6-11 – We were reconciled to God by the death of His Son
1Jn.3:5 – He was manifested to take away our sins
1Jn.4:14 – The Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world
Rev.5:9b – Thou wast slain, & redeemed us to God by Thy blood

3. MORE REASONS WHY GOD SENT JESUS INTO THE WORLD:

A. To proclaim the truth:

Jn.18:37b – For this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth

B. To destroy the power of the devil:

1Jn.3:8 – For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil
Heb.2:14b,15 – That…He (Jesus) might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil

C. To know our human weaknesses & to sympathise with us:

Heb.2:16-18 – Made like unto His brethren…in that He himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them
Heb.4:15 – (He was) touched with the feeling of our infirmities: Lk.2:40 – (growing up); Lk.4:2 – (hunger); Lk.8:23 – (need for sleep); Lk.9:58 – (poverty); Jn.4:6,7 – (weariness & thirst); Mat.26:37 – (sorrow).

4. JESUS’ TEACHINGS & PERSONAL EXAMPLE:

A. Jesus’ teachings were with power & authority:

Lk.4:32 – They were astonished at His doctrine: for His word was with power (See also Mat.7:28,29)
Jn.7:46 – Never man spake like this man

B. Jesus’ message was love:

Mat.22:37-39 – Thou shalt love the Lord..thou shalt love thy neighbour
Jn.13:34,35 – A new commandment I give you, That ye love one another

Lk.23:39-43 – [Jesus forgave the penitent thief dying with Him]
Jn.8:1-11 – [Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery]

5. JESUS, THE WAY TO SALVATION:

A. Jesus is the only way to God:

Jn.1:29 – The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world
Jn.14:6 – I am the way, the truth,& the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me
Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name…whereby we must be saved
1Tim.2:5 – One mediator between God & men, Christ Jesus
1Jn.5:11 – God hath given to us eternal life, & this life is in His Son

B. Jesus has the power to give us eternal life:

Jn.5:26 – As the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself

Jn.5:24 – He that believeth hath everlasting life, &…is passed from death unto life
Jn.6:40 – Every one which…believeth on Him (has) everlasting life
Jn.6:47 – He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life
Jn.6:48,50,51 – I am the living bread…if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever
Jn.10:28 – I give unto them eternal life; & they shall never perish
Jn.11:25 – I am the resurrection, & the life
Jn.17:2,3 – This is life eternal, that they might know…Jesus Christ
Rom.6:23 – The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
Heb.5:9 – He (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation
1Jn.5:12,13 – He that hath the Son hath life…you that believe on the name of the Son of God…have eternal life

C. When we receive Jesus, God dwells in our hearts:

1Jn.4:15 – Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, & he in God (See also Jn.13:20b)

D. God’s sheep will hear Jesus’ voice & come to Him:

Jn.5:23 – All men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father

E. God loves us if we love Jesus:

F. Those that hate Jesus, also hate God:

Jn.15:23,24 – He that hateth Me (Jesus) hateth My Father also…now have they both seen & hated both Me & My Father

G. What rejecting Jesus means:

Jn.3:36b – He that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him
Jn.3:18 – He that believeth not (on Jesus) is condemned already
Jn.3:19,20 – This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, & men loved darkness rather than light
Jn.8:24 – If ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins
Jn.12:48 – He that rejecteth Me…hath one that judgeth him: the Word…shall judge him in the last day
1Jn.2:22,23 – Whosoever denieth the Son…hath not the Father
1Jn.5:12b – He that hath not the Son of God hath not life

6. JESUS, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD:

A. Jesus is the true Light:

Jn.1:9 – That was that true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world
Jn.8:12 – I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness (See also Jn.9:5)
Mat.4:16 – The people which sat in darkness saw great light…in the region & shadow of death light is sprung up

7. JESUS’ LIFE & RESURRECTION ARE A FACT:

A. The facts of His life & death were recorded by eyewitnesses:

2Pet.1:16 – We have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we [told of the] coming of Jesus, but were eyewitnesses
Lk.1:1,2 – Those things which are most surely believed among us… they [told] us, which were…eyewitnesses
Jn.19:25,26,34,35 – He (John) that saw it [Jesus' crucifixion] bare record, & his record is true: & he knoweth that he saith true
